The latest summer trends for kids

Spring is winding down and the summer weather is beginning to approach, which means there is no better time than now to get the kids’ closets ready for the transition.

Local mom blogger Audrey McClelland stopped by the Rhode Show Wednesday to share some summer fashion trends from the Children’s Place that all kids are sure to love.

We’ll start with ladies first.

Look #1: Classic

Graphic tees with bright colors, beautiful patterns that are cute and age appropriate. Pair these with some cute denim shorts matched with a colorful belt.

Look #2: Trendy

Light color shirts with lace and a bright colored lace skirt to match. This is a fun and creative look that will keep kids fashionable while they have fun in the sun.

Look #3: Sun dresses

Cute little dresses come in all different patterns. From the colorful floral pattern that is really hot right now, to a simpler look with chevron stripes that are great for the beach. You can’t go wrong with this look.

Look #4: Fourth of July

Adorable white shirt with side fringe and a heart shaped American flag on the front. Match this with a navy pair of printed shorts that has white polka dots, to give a trendy and patriotic look. More great looks for the Fourth of July are featured in above video.

Now we will look at some styles for the young gentlemen.

Look #1: Timeless

Plaid shorts are always popular in the summer. Try different colors for boys with different styles. This is a timeless look that has many different styles to create different appearances.

Look #2: Super Hero

From Spiderman to Captain American, the Children’s Place has it all. Super heroes are huge right now and a great way to support your favorite super hero is to represent their symbol on your tee shirt.

Look #3: Plaid

Again, plaid is huge right now and there are so many different color combinations, that no two plaid shirts will look the same. Pair these with a simple pair of khaki shorts for the ultimate summer look.

Look #4: Fourth of July

Bathing suit bottoms that resemble an American flag are great for the holiday. Pair those with a classic red, white and blue plaid button down that is sure to give a fun and patriotic look for this Fourth of July.
